At 6 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, Harrison police responded to Frank E. Rogers Boulevard and Sherman Avenue on a report of a police car striking a parked vehicle, Harrison Police Detective Sgt. Matthew Murphy said.
A caller had said the officer, later identified as Brian Aparicio, was asleep and he was unable to wake him up, police said. Officers performed field sobriety tests and then placed Aparicio under arrest for DUI, police said.
Aparicio was also given a summons for failure to submit to a chemical breath test, police said.
